Thursday the 30th I had two Halloween parties and they were both great. First I wen to carnival at a nursing home. I thought it was just my friend, Angela's work party and thought she just wanted a friend with her. However, it was much more fun and bigger than I expected. There was face painting, cake walks, other games, pumpkin decorating, and hay rides. Lucia, Brooklyn, Diego, Tori, and I went together, and met Sarina and Angela their families there. Tori and I had matching pumpkins painted on our faces, and we painted a pumpkin like a mummy, then we went on a hay ride. I had a great time. Thanks a tin Angela!
Right after I got home I headed right to Tami's to home jack-o-lanterns. I was a little late but whatever. I whipped up a awesome pumpkin in record time and did quite well. I usually try to avoid carving pumpkins because I am no good with a knife. This time it was different. Like I said I did quite well carving. I did just the basic style but what helped the most was that I used the flatter side of the pumpkin to carve, and a really sharp knife. Another thing I did different was cleaning the pumpkin out last instead of first. Anyway thanks Tami for inviting Jake and i over for the good fun!
This past week has been a rough one when it comes to my eating habits. All I want to eat is junk food. Ugh. I love love love going to parties but the caramel, doughnuts, cheese balls, and candies are making me feel so blah. Even worse now I craving the junk. I had McDonalds and Taco Bell yesterday, the two unhealthiest places ever. This is no good. The true holiday weight gain season hasn't even hit yet, and I am all ready avoiding the scale. If I don't change something fast by Christmas I will be able to play Santa. Okay I am changing things now. No more unhealthy food. I mean no more healthy food after Halloween. I mean no more unhealthy food except sometimes. Well I am just going to eat healthier.
DIRECTIONS Pierce pork all over with a carving fork. Rub salt then liquid smoke over meat. Place roast in a slow cooker. Cover, and cook on Low for 16 to 20 hours, turning once during cooking time. Remove meat from slow cooker, and shred, adding drippings as needed to moisten.
For a ward activity I made this pork recipe. It was so easy and if I say so my self very tasty.
Tori 3 pair of shades, one pair is on her, the another by the bag and look close for the last pair under my foot.

Summer and Tori
Tori was not scared. She actually liked feeling his fur but didn't want to be away from me.
Tonight Tori and I went to UVU's Halloween bash. We met the Logases there and it was fun hanging out. If Tori was a little older maybe we would of enjoyed it even more. We did go trick or treating and Tori now has 3 pair star shaped sun glasses. I felt a little silly pushing around a tiny baby around in a stroller, who is not aware of what we are doing, saying trick or treat for her, knowing good and well I will be eating all the treats put into that bag. Oh well. Tori also took a picture with the UVU wolverine, got a free pumpkin, coupons for a free fosties, and got to dress up in her baby bird costume again. Tonight made the four time to go out in it. I love Halloween.
When Tori was just about 7 months old my friend Amanda told me that the first 6 months go fast and the next fly by even faster. Well it I think it is true because the past 3 months have seemed to to go by with out me knowing it. My baby is 9 months old. She goes in tomorrow to get her shots and measurement, I'm excited to see where she is at. my guess is that she is just below the average size of other 9 monthers. Anyway, these are some of the new things she is doing now...
Zooms around in her walker Makes a fish face She has 3 teeth, almost 4 Puts her lower lip over her upper lip when she doesn't want something Eats almost everything Jake says her baby mumblings are more coherent Climbs on and off to the love sac by herself Makes a clicky noise Whenever she is at the computer desk with Jake or I she pulls open the draw and pulls everything out. She is really starting to entertain herself Drinks from water bottles and a straws
I know this might sound crazy, but before this year I have never been to a pumpkin patch. I have had many fantasies about how magical it would be to find the perfect pumpkin, taking pictures with the farmers biggest pumpkin of the year, and loving every moment of the cool crisp autumn air. Now that I have a kiddo of my own I figure it is about time to start going to pumpkin patches every year, so Tori won't grow with out those memories. It took some convincing to get Jake to go, like having another couple come with us so he would have a guy to talk to. However we did go and it was fun. We went to pumpkin land in Orem with Hayley, Peter, and Reggie Bsksis. My first time to a pumpkin patch was fun but not to magical. I tried but it was hard to feel any magic while Jake threw ears of corn at me in the corn maze. Any way i am very happy we went and hope to make it a family tradition.
I'm a little late posting this event but Tori had her first taste of strawberry shake a few weeks ago. Grandpa Wayne had been teasing me endlessly about him giving Tori all sorts of sweets and goodies when I was out of the room. He especially was pushing the strawberry milkshake idea. Before I was ready to give Tori milkshakes I told him he could be the first to introduce the the strawberry treat to Tori. Well on a night that I thought he was a little stressed and a bit to worried I gave him the honors of feeding Tori her very first strawberry shake. I think it worked and calmed his nerves a bit.
Tonight a few girl friends and I got together and played Bunco. It was my first time to play and it was fun fun fun. If you have never heard of this strange named game before let me fill you in. Bunco was first played 200 years ago in England and is a simple dice game. The real reason to play is to get put of the house and chit chat and eat plenty of goodies. The object is to be the first one to 21 points, aka bunco, each round and in the end have the most points over all. You get points by rolling the the right number. It is very simple. There are a few other rules to give the game a twist but I won't bog you down with those. I just want to recommend that all you ladies should get together with your girls and play Bunco!
On my trip to St. George my sister in-law and I were talking about some of her things on her to do list. She mentioned scuba diving then I shot back "How about skydiving?" To my surprise she wasn't turned off by the idea, and actually said she would. The next week I looked up a skydiving place emailed Karen the link thinking she would say maybe next year or put off the idea totally, but again to my surprise she said ok. Karen came up with a date she could go, I made reservations, and that was that we were going skydiving.
Sky diving was so much fun. I want to do it again, and maybe again and again then some more. I felt so free, and untouchable while free falling. I thought I would be all pumped and crazy excited when I landed, but I felt so calm. Jumping just might be my new favorite thing to do. I would love to make it a hobby. How cool would it be to fill out those get to know you forms or applications and where it says hobbies you could put skydiving.
Here are a few questions and answers people have been asking me about my experience... Q.Was it cold? A. No, I was lucky we picked the warmest day of the week to go. Plus, the temp was the last thing on my mind.
Q.Why did you do it? A. It sounded like fun, and it is something I have always wanted to do.
Q. Did you scream? A. No, I moaned. I also let the H word slip right before going out the plane.

Something I have had to come to grips with in my life is that I am quite the quirky person. Now that I have excepted the fact that I quirky I have come to love all my weirdo little traits, well most of them.
Six of my Quirks
#1. I look at my self in the mirror all the time. Okay now you think I am vain, but that is not the case. I am just entrained by looking at myself making faces, dancing, or just standing there.
#2. When I am mad at Jake but not mad at him, or another way to put it is if I am just a little annoyed but still mostly happy with Jake I hiss at him. HISSSSS
#3. Sorry Lucia I didn't realize I did not fill in quirk for myself. However I am horrible at taking my vitamins. Not because I'm intimated but I really dislike swallowing pills. Even the tiny birth control ones. I think all pills should come in chewable form. Oh and I can't swallow more than one pill at one time. Jake will take four at once and it freaks me out.
#4. When I stay in a hotel I like to and must sleep in the bed furthest away from the door. I don't know why.
#5. I touch people when I talk to them. I know I get this from my mother. When I am talking to someone, even strangers, I touch their arm. I didn't realize till fairly recently. Sometimes I don't even realize when I do it till my had it on them. At the point I notice I touching someone I am not that close to I get all apologetic.
#6. I can live without my cell phone. There are times I leave my phone when I go out of town or out and about it does not bother me.
I tag the six of you that want to blog but don't have anything to blog about.
Jake and I have it good, we have a great home, two vehicles, a dog, a computer, and many other possessions we don't need to survive. We are not in any harm in loosing our home or the extras that we enjoy everyday but we have been talking about cutting back on some things and start pinching our pennies. We have started to cut back a little already. For an example canceled our cable, I have discontinued my over priced milk delivery service, and I even returned the fancy makeup I bought yesterday. Some other things we are doing is driving less, packing Jakes lunch, less eating out for the both of us, and making a weekly menu. If any of you have any ways y'all saved even ten dollars a month please share. I am really interested in what you might do.
Tori has a few attachments that she uses to calm her self down or to keep her self calm. Her favorite is her thumb. She loves it so much, and it is her go to guy when any stressful situation occurs. Next is any soft and cuddly cloth. Tori has one blanket she sleeps with and pulls to her face as she falls asleep, but if she is any where else where her bedtime blanket is not a cloth diaper, shirt, or any thing she can snuggle to her face will do. A new thing she is liking is my mascara, markers will do the trick too. She likes holding my mascara, and in some cases markers in her daily activities. Like sucking thumb, bathing, crawling, nursing, eating Cheerios, and cuddling with Jake and I. In fact as I type she is in my lap watching me with the mascara. I need to break her of this. Mascara and markers and babies usually end up messy. But it is cute right now.
This weekend was great one. It was the first weekend in several weeks Jake I did not have to be anywhere. Even better it was General Conference weekend. There were four absolutely beautiful sessions of Lords servants giving talks and teaching us the things the He wants the world to hear. Guess what my weekend got even better. My good friend Angela and her Husband were baptized, and became members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Sunday night. It has been so long, way to long, sense I attended a baptism. Seeing each them be baptized brought back the memories I have from my own baptism. I remember the beautiful white dress my mother made for me, and thinking soon I was going to just like my dress, pure and white and free from stains. I remembered walking down the steps into the font to my father, and being so happy because I could see how happy my dad was for me and for the choice I was making. I remember being proud of myself for being an example to all the little kids kneeling to watch me go under the water. I remember, even at he age of eight, that I was making a wise and the right choice. It was so wonderful to remember those things. My heart is so full of joy for Angela and Manuel that they each gained a testimony of the Gospel. I am so happy that they made the wise and right choice to join the Lords church. I am so grateful to Angela and Manuel that they invited me to witness the sacred covenant they made with the Savior. Along with conference it inspired me to be a better member of the church. Being there strengthened my testimony. And sense I am on the topic this is my testimony....
I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the Lords church. I know Joseph Smith saw God and Jesus Christ and was a prophet on this earth. I know, and I sustain Thomas S. Monson as a Prophet of God. I know my Savior, my Redeemer, even my dearest friend, died for me, and for every person that they might return to live with Him and our dearest Father in Heaven for all time and eternity. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ, and it is the word of God. In the name of The Savior, Jesus Christ, Amen.

There are not many things I get really worked up about but a couple commercials put out by the corn industry have got my feathers a little ruffled. Basically these commercials makes a person look foolish for not wanting to consume High Fructose Corn Syrup. It also makes high fructose corn syrup sound healthy. High fructose corn syrup is nothealthy. Let me tell exactly what that little momma and boyfriend should of said when asked what do they say about High fructose corn syrup.
High Frutose Corn Sryup(HFCS) is horrbile for you because it is packed with calories and your body does not recognize these calories from all the processing it takes to make HFCS. What happens when your baby doesn't reconize hundreds calories? Those calories turn strait to fat! Plus HFCS slows down and is many cases shuts down the body's natural hunger switches. Now does it make sence that you can drink a gallon of that not so much fruit fruit juice or three boxes of those calorie packed popcicles.
Those are just a few of the facts. Please learn more about High fructose corn syrup and try to avoid eating it when possible. All you have to do is read the lables and make smart food joices. There are healthy options.
Towards the end of August ( Tori was about 7 months) at the bow making class I went to Tori decided to start climbing the stairs with out my permission . Of coarse I freaked a little because I had no clue Tori knew how to climb stairs. Plus I couldn't help but freak a little because her feet were all ready on the second step! I thought my baby was going to tumble down the stairs any second. She never tumbled and I was able rescue her. Anyway a week or so latter I decided to let Tori climb the stairs at Grandma Sherrie's, with close supervision of course.
The last weekend of September all the ladies of the Green family (and Cindy) were sent on a little get away to St. George Utah to do some shopping, relaxing, and to be entertained. Unfortunately there wasn't any relaxing by the pool but most of us did go get our toe nails done pretty. We shopped at Wal-Mart (that was exciting), the outlets, and the mall down there. I bought my self a few shirts and got a couple pair of flip flops(thanks Sherrie.) Then we went to the Tuachn and saw Les Miserables. It was my first time to see it and I loved it. The cast did a wonderful job. Tori did well siting there with noise and fire works. It was only towards the end she started to get tired and a bit cranky.
Thanks Wayne and Karen for the awesome weekend.

Here are a few recipes I told some of y'all I would post. Sorry it took me while on the dressing.
Cafe Rio Style Tomtillo Dressing 3 tomtillos Juice from one lime 1/2 cup butter milk 1/2 cup mayo 1/2 cup sour cream 1 packet of buttermilk ranch mix 1 cup fresh cilantro 5 stocks of green onion 2 cloves of garlic 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp cyan pepper 4 tsp sugar
Through in a blender till liquefied and smooth.
Homemade Bread 3 cups warm water 1 1/2 heaping Tbsp yeast 1/4 cup sugar 1 Tbsp salt 1/3 cup oil 6-7 cups of flour 5 1/2 Tbsp of gluten
In a large bowl mix water, yeast, and, sugar. Let sit till yeast begins to grow, about 10 minutes. In a separate bowl mix 3 cups flour, 2 1/2 Tbsp of gluten and salt. Add oil and flour mixture to yeast. Mix and let the mixture sit for 15 minutes. Add 3 1/2 Cups flour and 3 Tbsp gluten to dough. Knead For 10 minutes. Let dough rise 10-20 minutes. Shape loaves and put into lightly greased loaf pans. Let the dough raise till the it reaches the top of the pan. Bake at 375 for 25 - 35 minutes.
* I wasn't able to find the gluten I bought and made the bread without it, and the bread turned out fine. However, the bread will be fluffier and lighter with gluten. I also added milled flax seed and oatmeal to the dough. Then put an egg water mixture and the flax seed and oatmeal on stop of the shaped loaves before I baked them, to make the bread more wholesome looking.
Homemade Microwave Popcorn 1/2 cup popcorn kernels 1 teaspoon vegetable oil 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
In a cup or small bowl, mix together the popcorn kernels and oil. Pour the coated corn into a brown paper lunch sack, and sprinkle in the salt. Fold the top of the bag over twice to seal in the ingredients. Cook in the microwave at full power for 2 1/2 to 3 minutes, or until you hear pauses of about 2 seconds between pops. Carefully open the bag to avoid steam, and pour into a serving bowl.
*A few kernels will remain unpopped. Longer cooking may pop the rest, but will burn some of the already-popped kernels, so it is not recommended.
